The Elizabethton Cyclones continued to be rewarded for their efforts on the gridiron in the 2019 season as the Tennessee Sports Writer’s Association released their All-State team on the heels of the Coach’s All-State team and
the Cyclones placed seven players on the team.
Bryson Rollins, Cade Maupin, and Parker Hughes were a trio of All-State performers that landed on both teams released.
Joining them on the team from the offensive side of the ball were offensive linemen junior Cole Morganstern and sophomore Conner Johnson who helped to open the running lanes and kept opposing defenses off Rollins allowing the quarterback to throw the football.
On the defensive side of the football, senior linemen Carson Streseman and Joseph Kechter made the team for their work in the trenches.
Streseman, who once was a backup quarterback, played inspired football all season long and created havoc in the backfield for opposing quarterbacks and was credited with saving the perfect season when he blocked a Sullivan South PAT that allowed the Cyclones to escape with a win.
Kechter was a solid performer all season whose leadership kept the defensive front line one of the strongest units around shutting down opponents offensively throughout the entire season.
Both linemen participated in the FCA All-Star game for the winning West squad.
