Gary “Dob” Ward, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020. A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late John Corneilus Ward and Gladys Carr Ward. Mr. Ward was a top-notch carpenter and also loved to make crafts. He enjoyed going to the river with his friends and also loved being outdoors. He was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Cory Ward and wife Cherie, Johnson City, and James Ward and wife Leigh Ann, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Morgan Fox and husband Matt, Elizabethton, Amber Gray and husband Tony, Johnson City, and Summer Fleenor and husband Ethan, Johnson City; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Ward, Johnson City, Madison Fox, Elizabethton, Tucker Tolley, Johnson City, and Owen Fleenor, Johnson City. A special friend, Kag Mottern, Watauga, also survives.
