State-ranked Lady ‘Landers upended by North Greene, 51-40

The second half proved to be fatal for the Class 1-A sixth-ranked Lady Highlanders on Tuesday night as the visiting Lady Huskies from North Greene clamped down on Cloudland in the second half to take an 11-point win, 51-40.
After building a 29-23 advantage to end the first half, the Lady ‘Landers uncharacteristically couldn’t get anything going in the second half offensively scoring only 11 points over the final two periods of play.
Kenzie Birchfield led Cloudland with nine points in the contest while Mandy Benfield and Gracie Freeman tossed in eight points each.
Heaven Caraway added six points in the loss while Jasmine Birchfield connected for four points. Leah Birchfield and Karah Fields tallied two points apiece.
Brooklyn Anderson led three Lady Huskies in double figures with a game-high 18 points. Breezy Savage and Shelby Davenport added 13 and 12 points respectively for North Greene.
