Saturday, January 18th was the 14th Annual New Year’s Championship Bracket Race held at Undervalley Dragway in downtown Elizabethton. 1st place Ernie Humes (blue shirt, 3rd from left), 2nd Jake Ball (2nd from left), 3rd Ernie Humes, 4th Ernie Humes, 5th Scotty Johnson (on right), 6th Adam Keir (on left), 7th Scotty Johnson, 8th Kaileb Cordil (not pictured). Saturday was the peak of the anniversary racing event, which had begun with special races on the preceding Thursday and Friday. Total anniversary race event payouts were over $4,500. Undervalley Dragway has been owned by Albert Allen since 2006 and is located at 516 East Elk Ave Elizabethton.
