Roan Mountain Lodge #566 F.&A.M., 305 Conway St., will meet in stated communication at 7 p.m. All members in good standing and visiting brethren are welcome to attend.
Elizabethton Choral Club begins spring season rehearsals at 7 p.m. in the choir room of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. Led by Debbie Gouge, director, and Susan Heaton, accompanist, the group rehearses on Mondays until the Spring Concert on Monday, May 11. All interested singers, at least 18 years of age with experience in a choral ensemble, and preferably with note reading ability are encouraged to be a part of this group.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. The Carter County Democratic Women will begin celebrating “2020 — The Year of Women,” with programs throughout the year recognizing the achievmeents of women both past and present. If you are interested please join us at 5 p.m. at Dino’s in downtown Elizabethton for those wishing to eat. A short business meeting will begin around 5:45 p.m. followed by a guest speaker addressing the “New” League of Women Voters. KCCB (Keep Carter County Beautiful) Adopt a Highway Cleanup, Milligan Highway. Meet at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Happy Valley Elementary School.
The Julius Dugger – John Carter NSDAR will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library for its regular meeting and Presidents’ Day observance. After an introductory review of Presidents’ Day information and history, Levi Shults will be present portraying Abraham Lincoln and reviewing the American Presidents. Levi is eight years old and a third-grader at Weaverville Elementary School, Weaverville, N.C. The public is welcome to attend.
Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton will host a gardening seminar series from 9 a.m. until noon in the Community Room. “Raised Beds and Compost” sure can make gardening simpler and easier. Less weeds, no plowing, no rotatilling, no hoeing, start earlier, and end later. The seminar will be presented by two master gardeners, Ben Hunter and Vonda Little. The seminar is sponsored by N.E. Tennessee Master Gardeners and Sycamore Shoals State Park. The event is free to the public. For more information, call (423) 543-5808.
Boozy Creek Community Center, 1989 Shelleys Road, Bristol, Va., will hold a Fish and Chicken Meal at 4 p.m. The meal will be served wth lots of delicious sides, a large variety of homemade desserts, and drinks.
