The Elizabethton Cyclones knew going in the road would be tough if they were to pull off a Region 1 A-AA Dual title especially with perennial power Greeneville in the fray as well.
That didn’t stop the Cyclones however as they battled their way past Sullivan East, 66-12, to reach the finals against the Greene Devils and then gave it everything they had with the bodies available before falling 57-24.
There were several standout performances in the two dual matches as Carson Streseman took two victories by pin taking down Nicholas Sakeller of East at 285 by pinfall and then pinning the Greene Devils Ross Cornelius at the 220 weight class as well.
Holden Roaten was also undefeated winning by forfeit in the East matchup and then defeating Greeneville’s Josue Castillo in 106 action with a pinfall.
Deuce Morton also won two as he defeated Sullivan East wrestler Kolby Rutledge and then won by a forfeit in the Greeneville match at 195.
