D.L. Clawson

D.L. Clawson, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Hillview Health Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Damon and Rosie Mae Eastridge Clawson.
D.L. was a retired welder and an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Stoney Creek Coon Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelene Joines Clawson, who passed away December 26, 2002, and two sons, Jim Edward Clawson and David Charles Clawson.
Survivors include his children, Faye Marie Clawson Stevens and Samuel L. Clawson; his grandchildren, Anthony Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Christopher Stevens and Nikki Bates; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lonnie and Vernon Clawson; two sisters, Esther Caldwell and Cathy Crawford; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor William Birchfield officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Christopher Stevens, Doug Colbaugh, Justin Colbaugh and Chris Barnett. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Chris Barnett, Charlie Southerland and Katherine White for all the kindness shown to the family. The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday, prior to the graveside service.
