George Harold Roberson

George Harold Roberson, 81, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1938 in Polo, Ill., to the late Earnest and Anna Mae Marks Roberson. He spent his life in Carter County.
George was retired from Charter Cable Company as a technician. He loved to hunt and fish. He attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special grandson, Justin Harrison, and a brother, Jack Roberson.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Hatley Roberson; his children, Ronnie, Michael, Michelle and Shari Roberson; two step-children, Rachael Baker Harrison and husband Kenneth and Daniel Baker and wife Ranee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two special grandsons, Jordan Harrison and Jacob Baker; his siblings, Bill Roberson, Shirley and Larry, Judy and Allen and Earnestine and Tom; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Bendidetta Widener, Linda Wiseman, Cassie Baker, Steve Hatley and wife Kathy, Robert Mitchell and wife Ruthie and Barbara Anecone.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Johnson and Pastor Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Jeff Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends and his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Judy and Victor Deloach and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
