ANTIOCH (AP) — Law enforcement officials are investigating after two people were shot and killed outside of a grocery store near Nashville.

Metro police say two people met in the Kroger parking lot just south of Nashville on Friday and began shooting at each other. The two then left in separate vehicles.

Police say one vehicle stopped at a nearby Waffle House, where the person shot was transported to a local hospital by Nashville Fire. The other vehicle drove to a separate hospital for treatment.

Both people died from injuries. Police have not released their identities.

The situation is being investigated.
