Sen. Rusty Crowe announces training opportunities Public grants for Washington, Unicoi and Carter counties

NASHVILLE — State Senator Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City) announced today that the Washington County Jonesborough Library, Unicoi County Public Library and Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library in Senate District 3 will receive Training Opportunities for the Public (TOP) grants.
The grants are made possible by the Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act and a partnership with the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office.
Sen. Crowe made the announcement after being notified by Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett.
Sen. Crowe’s district will be receiving a total of $5,100 in TOP grants.
Washington County Jonesborough Library: $1,200
Unicoi County Public Library: $1,500
Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library: $2,400
Training Opportunities for the Public grants provide funding for trainers, hardware, and software for free technology training classes for communities.
Sen. Crowe said, “I am excited to see the impact that these grants will have for our local libraries and am very glad residents in my district will be benefitting from the TOP program.”
