Terry E. Peters

Terry E. Peters, 72, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from Johnson City Medical Center. Terry was born in Elizabethton to the late Arthur Gene and Opal Mattie Hyder Peters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hubert Peters; a niece, Lori L. Peters; and his step-father, George Wilson.
Terry was an electronics instructor in the educational field and was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served in the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his many wonderful memories include his loving wife of 53 years, Bobbie Parlier Peters, of the home; two sons, Mark Peters and wife Lisa of Elizabethton and Philip Peters and wife Bonnie, also of Elizabethton; and three grandchildren, Jacob Peters, Amanda Peters and Kailey Peters, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Terry E. Peters will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Ron Owens officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Peters, Craig Andrews, Dave Harold, Lester Parlier, Brian Hartley, Freddy Julian and Jason Street. Honorary pallbearers will be Lanny White, Larry Bell, Richard Tompson, Terry Pope, Mike Hively, Chuck Hyder, Ron Crumley, Dewey Colbaugh and the Unaka High School Class of 1965.
