Lindsey Rebecca Shepard, 38, 124 Wilson Ave., Elizabethton, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell or deliver Monday in Carter County Criminal Court. By agreement with the District Attorney’s office, she received a sentence of 10 years to serve in the Tennessee Department of Corrections. She will not be eligible for parole until serving 30 percent of the sentence.
Shepard’s charge arose from a search warrant conducted by drug agents of the Elizabethton Police Department on April 26, 2019, at a room at the Traveler’s Inn at 505 W. Elk Ave. The search warrant derived from multiple undercover methamphetamine purchases from rooms occupied by Shepard during April. During the execution of the warrant, an officer observed Shepard attempting to conceal evidence inside of her pants. That evidence was discovered to be two bags of methamphetamine totaling approximately 14 grams in weight.
