Eddie worked for many years at Mapes Piano String Company in Elizabethton. He was a long-time member of East Side Freewill Baptist Church and then Eternal Life Missionary Baptist Church. Eddie was an avid deer hunter. He liked Tennessee football, loved hotdogs, and always enjoyed special fishing trips with his son.

The family would like to express their greatest appreciation for the amazing staff who became like family to Eddie at Smokey Mountain Clinic of Davita, especially Penny Jones, during his extended illness.
