WCSO seeking public’s help in locating wanted fugitive

Authorities in Washington County and Greene County are searching for a convicted felon wanted in connection with a carjacking case that occurred in Greeneville.

According to Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Tyler James Rogers, 26, eluded deputies Thursday afternoon after he was spotted driving on Rowe Road in Washington County driving a gold Hyundai Elantra.

Rogers fled in the vehicle after a traffic stop was attempted. Rogers later crashed on Cherokee Road and fled on foot into a wood line. He is believed to have been picked up by another vehicle and his whereabouts remain unknown at this time.

Anyone with information on Tyler James Rogers, or anyone knowing his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 423-788-1414, or the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, 423-798-1800.

Rogers faces multiple charges, which include violation of probation, carjacking, evading arrest, and reckless driving.
