Karen Church Elliott, 66, Elizabethton, passed to her Heavenly Home on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Hermitage Health & Rehab Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James Clifford and Nola Blanche Ward Church.
Karen was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University with a nursing degree. Karen was loved and respected by everyone she knew. She was a Christian Wife, Mother and friend to all, always putting others above self. Karen was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Gary Elliott; son and daughter-in-law, Jason (Michele) Elliott; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne (Chris) Runion; two granddaughters, Sara Elliott and Kayleigh Runion; one grandson, Kyree Runion; extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews; two special sisters-in-law, Sandra Miller and Kathy Dula; special first cousin-sister, Jackie McKinney; her special longtime friends, Margaret Holland, Karen Tillison, Sandra Laws, Janet Potter, and her special Sunday School Teacher and mentor, Billie Jean Powell.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, May 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Tim Adkins officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday. The family would like to express a special Heartfelt Thanks for the staff at Hermitage Health Center for the special care and kindness given to Karen and family. All the prayers, get well cards, phone calls and love shown during Karen’s illness will never be forgotten and cherished always.
