To the Editor:
What stated as extreme carelessness by the Chinese government has pushed America, and the world as a whole, to the brink of total economic collapse. The U.S. economy was at record levels of employment and prosperity, all to be destroyed in a matter of a couple of months. We were told by the experts that millions of people were going to die and that being forced into lockdown was the new normal. Blue state governors enacted the most draconian restrictions on their constituents, completely stripping them of their Constitutional freedoms. Businesses were forced to close, unemployment levels skyrocketed, suicides are dramatically up, and all for what?
The mainstream media (MSM), in its never ending quest to support the Democratic Party’s desire to remove our duly elected president (who BTW is responsible for our historic economic prosperity), will stop at nothing to destroy him. They have lost all semblance of objective reporting. If you only get your news from ABC, CBS, or NBC, and form you opinions about President Trump and what is taking place in America from these news sources, you are doing yourselves and the rest of us a huge disservice. The MSM has gone nonstop in virus fear mongering as the latest attempt to destroy the Trump presidency. They are using the nonstop virus reporting to deflect from the coming presidential election. The presumptive Democratic nominee has a trainload of corruption baggage that is about to destroy his family’s reputation. Then there’s the who bogus impeachment and spying on the Trump campaign and the phony Steele dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. The MSM is so in bed with the Democratic Party that it should be a crime.
We were told that the Chinese virus was very deadly and that we must social distance and wear masks. In the beginning we were told that masks were useless, then they became mandatory, now the latest news is that they do not work. The greatest hypocrisy I witnessed were two women wearing masks purchasing cigarettes. The virus probably did more damage to humanity due to people not being able to seek medical care for ailments not related to the virus. There have been countless reports nationwide that if a person died, no matter what the cause of death, if they tested positive for the virus at the time of death, the virus was stated on the death certificate as the cause of death. That is totally unacceptable and inexcusable. The latest report from the CDC now puts the mortality rate for the virus at .26% when you factor in the asymptomatic cases, meaning people who test positive for the virus but never got sick. During this entire pandemic we were fed nothing but scary figures from the WHO that were parroted by the MSM.
The whole virus issue gave the Leftists and Globalists an opportunity to destroy our capitalist economy and replace it with Socialism. It’s time for America to get back to the previous normal and regain the record prosperity we were experiencing thanks to the current presidential administration.
