Bob Bowling, Elizabethton, has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the young age of 88. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He leaves behind his wife, Colleen Bowling; his sons, Bobby Bowling and David Bowling; his daughter, Teresa Bowling Baker; grandchildren, Todd Bowling, Matt Bowling, Ashley Lewis, Jeffery Brewster, Brittney Brewster and Taylor Baker; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Bowling; and a sister, Kathy Bowling Smith.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Bowling and Sonny Bowling, and a sister, Brenda Bowling Hawkins.
Bob worked at the Elizabethton Star for 40 plus years and retired. He loved Jesus, his family, NASCAR and fishing. On the weekends if he wasn’t fishing he was watching NASCAR. Bob got called up to heaven to do his victory lap with Jesus, Bobgity, Boogity, Boogity, Let’s Go Racing Boys.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Southside Freewill Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 5 to 6 p.m. Rev. Steve Burleson and Rev. Gary Hall will be officiating. It was his wish to be cremated. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
