There’s nothing like a rodeo… Event presents unique opportunity for enjoyable family outing

When someone starts talking about bull riding, calf riding, barrel racing, and team roping, its easy to let your mind drift to the Wild West where cowboys and cowgirls alike take part in rodeos much like athletes take to the field for football, soccer, baseball, and several other conventional sporting events.
And while the West certainly holds an ample supply of opportunities to take in rodeos, there are many that are unaware of the same opportunity right in here in a small neck of the woods close to the Watauga River on Grindstaff Road.
The Evening Breeze Arena offers rodeo fans from both far and near to take in all the great aspects of rodeo life from bull riding to sheep riding and a whole lot more.
Geared to entertain the whole family, the rodeo at the Evening Breeze Arena gives young people the opportunity to learn a little bit about the cowboy way and get up close and personal with rodeo animals from sheep and horses along with fan favorites bulls and steers.
Rodeo crowds vary from infants all the way up to senior citizens who enjoy watching the pagentry that can only be found at rodeos from the National Anthem being performed as a flag is proudly displayed by a horseman that carries the red, white, and blue around the arena on a beautiful stead to the clowns that are present to protect the cowboys.
Speaking of clowns, some like Vern, the resident clown at Evening Breeze wears many hats as Vern not only protects the participants drawing the ill-intention of a fired up bull away from a fallen rider to emceeing the evenings events to enhance the show being presented.
Fans who attend a Carolina Pro Rodeo are able to watch such events as open bull riding, amateur bull, chute dogging, steer riding, calf riding, sheep riding, open barrels, youth barrels, speed barrels, pole bending, youth poles, buddy pick-up, team roping and breakaway.
Like the many fans that attend, participants who enjoy competing in the events also come from far and wide to see if they have what it takes to walk away as the top cowboy or cowgirl in their respective event.
Currently as 2020 winds down, there are five more Carolina Pro Rodeo’s scheduled at the arena as the scheduled dates include August 1st at 7 pm, September 19th at 7 pm, October 10th at 1 pm, and November 7th with the time not set for this show.
The Carolina Pro Rodeo doesn’t buck away from making sure that each show is one that all ages to enjoy.
On their website, www.ncrodeo.com, the company lays it out in black and white that all the events are meant to be a family atmosphere setting and bad language needs to be kept to a minimum.
The site also states that entry will be refused to any and all fans and participants that are under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or anything else that causes bad judgement and that could put anyone in harms way with no exceptions.
As far as admission, the costs is no more than the cost of a ticket to a movie as tickets are $12 for general admission while youth age 6-10 is only $8. Ages five and under are admitted absolutely free.
Children will have the opportunity to take tethered pony rides and concessions are available to quench any thirst or hunger while attending the rodeo.
Gates for the 7 pm shows normally open at 4:30 pm so everyone can come early and check out all the pre-rodeo activities. The Evening Breeze Arena is located at 239 C Grindstaff Road in Elizabethton.
