Medical device maker expanding facility in Memphis suburb

BARTLETT (AP) — A medical device maker is investing $13 million to expand its facility in West Tennessee, officials said.
Engineered Medical Systems and Gov. Bill Lee said Tuesday that the company plans to create 60 new jobs over the next five years to increase capacity at its facility in the Memphis suburb of Bartlett.
EMS manufactures surgical instruments, implants and specialty medical devices, according to a news release from the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Officials said the company plans to buy new equipment to add machining capacity. The company recently doubled the size of its facility in Bartlett to 92,000 square feet (8,450 square meters) to meet increased demand.
