Jerry Preston Pierce, 44, of Watauga, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord and those that had passed on before him on Monday, August 24, 2020, from the Johnson City Medical Center. Jerry was born in Washington County, Tenn., to Penny Perry Bradley and the late Ricky Pierce. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Michael “Mike” Bradley Sr.; a son, Phoenixx Pierce; two grandmothers, Novella Nidiffer and Ellen Bradley; and an aunt, Brenda Garland.
Jerry had worked as a DJ, a job that he loved! He was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, include three children, Kaleb Paxton, Preston Pierce and Shyloh Pierce; a brother, Michael Bradley Jr.; two sisters, Kaci Bradley Pearson and husband Timothy and Marsha Pierce; two nephews, Hayden Pearson and Elijah Dayton Bradley; and a special cousin, Lisa Holt.
Friends and family may pay their respects and register their presence at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, August 27, or at the residence at any time. A graveside service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, in the Bradley Cemetery with Pastor Bud Malone officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 1:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit Carter County wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the open visitation or to the graveside service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.
