Feel the sting… Lady Cyclones finish weekend tournament 4-1 in volleyball action.

The Elizabethton Lady Cyclone volleyball team made the weekend trip to Sevier County for a volleyball tournament called Feel the Sting.
 
While the teams participating were wanting to avoid being stung, the Lady Cyclones were doing their fair share as head coach Leslee Bradley and her squad went 4-1 in the tournament.
 
Elizabethton defeated the Pigeon Forge Lady Tigers (25-21, 25-15), Fulton (25-14, 25-14), Powell (25-14, 25-9), and Cherokee (25-10, 25-10).
The only setback during the tournament came at the hands of Christian Academy of Knoxville who defeated the Lady Cyclones in three sets after EHS took the first set 25-23.
CAK responded with set wins of 15-25 and 7-15 to win the match.
Jayci Bowers and Makaiah Williams had a big day serving as Bowers recorded 16 and Williams 10. As a team, the Lady Cyclones had 55 serving aces for the tournament.
Bailee VanHuss (6), Cheyenne Poiroux (6), Grace Martin (5), Mattie Davis (5), Kallista DePrimo (4), and Brittany Kitchens (3) collected the remaining aces for Elizabethton.
The Lady Cyclones recorded 211 digs in the five matches as Martin had a phenomenal tournament with 60 total. Kitchens added 30 with 24 each being collected by Bowers and Davis.
Poiroux (21), VanHuss (18), Williams (13), DePrimo (11), Anna Fontanez (5), and Karie Merritt (5) contributed in the digs category as well for Elizabethton.
At the net, the Lady Cyclones received 29 kills by Davis with 21 each coming from Kitchens and Poiroux. DePrimo was in double-figures in kills with 14.
Fontanez (5), Merritt (4), and Bowers (1) helped make up the remaining 95 kills recorded during the tournament by the Lady Cyclones.
Williams and Bowers led EHS in assists with 41 and 38 respectively.
