They had three sons, Thomas “Tommy” (& Helen Garrison) Humphreys of Fruitland Park, Fla., Franklin “Buddy” (& Pat Smith) Humphreys of Johnson City, and Larry (& Kimberly Fisk) Humphreys of Tampa Fla. She was preceded in death by husband Wayne Humphreys; brother Paul Wylie; sister Helen Carver; and granddaughter Liberty Johnston.
She was an avid animal lover and did volunteer work for the Humane Society. Her love of dogs inspired her to start a home business dog kennel which she maintained for decades.
She graduated from Happy Valley High School and while raising three sons, attended ETSC, earning an electronics degree. She worked for Raytheon and became the highest paid female missile board programmer in the company at the time. The company also flew her to multiple locations to teach classes.
She loved to read and work crossword puzzles.
Jean, like her late husband, donated her body and asked for no funeral or services.
