Doris Kay Murray Loveless, 91, passed away in May 2019 and had the wonderful privilege of entering into the presence of the Lord.
She chose to donate her body to science and requested a graveside service when her cremains were returned.
A graveside service will be held at the Highland Cemetery at the Murray Cemetery Lot (on the lower side) on Sunday, October 18, at 2 p.m. All friends are invited.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Eva Murray; a brother, Phil Murray; and her husband, Kyle Loveless.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Merritt of Elizabethton, and a brother, Fred Murray (Louise) of Dandridge, Tenn.
She was a native of Elizabethton, a 1946 graduate of Elizabethton High School and a Steed College alumni. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church for 80 years and dedicated to the church music ministry, playing the piano and organ for many years. She was active in Sunday School and all church activities. She worked in several business positions in Washington, D.C., Johnson City, and retired from Beaunit in Elizabethton.
She delighted in taking and caring for older relatives who otherwise would be in a nursing home. She was well liked by all who knew her and well known for her kindness and generosity.
Memorials may be expressed by purchasing Bibles in her honor through The Gideons Card Program, making possible for others to know Christ as Savior. Cards are available at most churches and all funeral homes or by contacting any Gideon. Cards may be sent to the homeplace at 801 S. Second Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643, addressed to brother Fred and sister Betty.
