In a football season that many have not seen the likes of, Carter County teams along with others were able to complete a football season during a pandemic.

Several Carter County players were recognized recently for their efforts in the 2020 season being named to the TWSA All-State teams in their respective classifications.

Making the cut in the TWSA Class 1-A All-State team was Unaka’s Devin Ramsey who was selected as a wide receiver. Ramsey also had a solid season on the defensive side of the football.

Landing on the TWSA Class 4-A All-State team were six Elizabethton Cyclones after another remarkable 15-0 season including their second consecutive Blue Cross Bowl Class 4A State Championship.

Bryson Rollins was one of two quarterbacks named to the squad along with Rivers Hunt of Hardin County.

Parker Hughes, the Tennessee Titan Mr. Football in Class 4A, was named to the team as a wide receiver closing out a stellar four-year career for the Cyclones.

Other wide receivers named were Desmond Nokes of Dekalb County and Kaydin Pope from Hardin County.

Elizabethton had two offensive linemen named to the team in senior Cole Morganstern who recently signed his name to continue his playing career at the Air Force Academy and junior Conner Johnson.

Joining the two Cyclones were Ian Poe of Tullahoma and Clay Odom of Greeneville.

On the defensive side of the football, the Cyclones Trenton Taylor got the nod at one of four defensive linemen slots. Others named were Grant Reeder of Nolensville, Kevarisu Smith of Springfield, and Josh Williams of Lexington.

Senior Deuce Morton was named to the squad as a linebacker after wrapping up his Cyclone career. Joining Morton was Blaine Savage of East Hamilton, Isaac Brown of Greeneville, and Christian Stacey of Marshall County.
