Berry-Fields Wedding

First Baptist Church of Elizabethton was the setting for the wedding of Miss Wendy Michelle Berry to Mr. Joseph Arie Fields.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fields exchanged nuptial vows in double-ring rites performed at 4 p.m. on October 10, 2020. The Rev. Norman Markland was the officiating clergyman.
The bride is the former Wendy Michelle Berry, daughter of Roger and Brenda Gail Berry of Elizabethton and granddaughter of Erma “Memmie” Burgess and the late Curley Burgess of Hampton, Mary Alice Berry Crumley and Claude Crumley and the late Rev. Ira Berry of Elizabethton.
The groom is the son of Nancy Fields and the late Newton Fields of Kingsport.
A special prayer ceremony was given from the Joy Bell Class (prayer warriors) of Hampton First Baptist Church consisting of Donna Proffitt, Phyllis Thomas, Betty Clark, Wanda Cooper, Mildred Roberson, Amber Markin and many more.
A program of wedding music was presented by Karen Timbs, pianist. Lisa Hendrix served as wedding director.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a custom silver ivory formal of satin and antique beading with additional custom beading. She also wore her Memmie’s pearl necklace. She carried a handmade pearl and white rose bouquet adorned with her Mother’s silver brooches and a small honey bee accent in memory of her Poppie.
Miss Whitney Nelson attended as maid of honor. She wore a black chiffon dress with silver beadwork.
Bridesmaids were Kim Heartman, cousin of the bride, Traci Proffitt and Amanda Miller. They wore black chiffon dresses with silver beadwork and a dip-dye effect of purple, royal blue and teal.
Serving the groom was best daughter, McKenna Fields. Groomsmen were Phillip Dykes, brother of the groom, James Hurt and Bill Fields.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Life Center of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
Following a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, the couple will make their home in Elizabethton.
