Viola Taylor Dugger, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Noah & Lucille Grindstaff Taylor. She was a homemaker. In earlier years she was employed at J.L. Hyder & Son. She was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. She loved to go camping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: MD Dugger, two brothers: Ivan and Ralph Taylor and a sister: Anita Taylor.
Survivors include her son: Michael Taylor & wife Ruth, Elizabethton. A Granddaughter: Jessica Michaela Taylor. A Sister: Eliza Mae Campbell. Several nieces, nephews & cousins including a special nephew: Ronnie Berry. Also her four-legged friend Poggy.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery with the Rev. R.L. Poole officiating. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff at Life Care Center and also a special “Thank You” to Earl and his family. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
