‘Lovin’ Downtown’ Valentine’s event set for Saturday

Main Street Elizabethton is inviting everyone to celebrate with their loved ones Valentine’s Day on Saturday, Feb. 13, in downtown Elizabethton.
“Your ‘Valentine’ may be your family, a special someone or your best friends,” says Courtney Bean, Main Street Director. “It doesn’t matter who you decide to celebrate the holiday with. There will be a way here in Elizabethton for everyone, every age to celebrate this holiday of love.
“The main focus is about ‘Lovin’ Downtown’ — loving and supporting local small business. Our merchants are getting creative, some are even are pairing up, to providing these special and unique experiences available only on Valentine’s weekend.”
Bean also said representatives of Main Street Elizabethton will be strolling through downtown with Polaroid cameras, available to capture special Valentine moments for visitors and providing them with free keepsake photos.
Downtown businesses will offer extended shopping hours, unique experiences, and more to make Valentine’s Day special.
Some of the special experiences offered include a special prime rib dinner for two (after 4 p.m.) at Dino’s Restaurant, complete with a luscious dessert from Simply Elegant Bakery, pop-up ballet performances throughout downtown by the East Tennessee Ballet Academy, and “Mommy & Me” (noon – 2 p.m.) and a Date Night (7-9 p.m.) events at Fired Up Ceramics.
Several businesses will offer live entertainment that evening including Jiggy Ray’s Pizzeria who will have live music with Julie Williams until 11 p.m.; and Five One Eight will have live music and extended shopping hours until 8 p.m.
The Coffee Company and Riverside Taphouse are teaming up for the weekend. The Coffee Company patrons can enjoy Riverside Taphouse pints, jazz music and special treats until 8 p.m., and in turn
Riverside Taphouse will offer guests a special “LOVIN’” beer flight complemented by special Coffee Company treats.
Blue Mountanya will be open until 8 p.m. and will offer a VIP List giveaway.
Cottage Boutique will extend their shopping hours to 7 p.m. and offer complimentary chocolates with purchase.
Elizabethton Escape will be open until midnight, offering free arcade play with purchase of an escape room, and Lingerfelt’s Boutique will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Valentine’s Day with special sales and Valentine’s boxes.
Simple Blessings General Store will offer extended shopping until 8 p.m. with candy tin specials, art kits and coloring sheets.
Cannon’s Fine Home Furnishings will extend their shopping hours until 7 p.m. and Sweetsie Treatz will feature special Valentine’s treats, as well as a photo booth and craft project in conjunction with the Elizabethton Arts and Cultural Alliance.
The Elizabethton Escape will be open until midnight featuring free arcade play with purchase of escape room; and Lingerfelt’s Boutique will be open 9 a.m. – noon with special sales and Valentine’s boxes.
Other participating businesses include All Star Sports and Country Crafts, Betsy Treasures, Duck Crossing, Eagle Center Co-op, Fletcher’s Homemade, Powers Coffee, Simply Elegant Baker & Catering, Southern Restaurant, The Secret Garden, and Undervalley Dragway — all of which will have extended shopping until 8 p.m. that evening.
The following Tennessee Pledge guidelines will be in place throughout the shopping event to promote safety:
– Face coverings are strongly recommended
– Social distancing is encouraged
– Sanitation stations will be located in store
