Jerry Michael Price, 72, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from his residence. Jerry was born in Elizabethton to the late Herman and Hattie Edens Price. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Morgan, and two brothers, Manuel Price and Larry Price.
Jerry was retired from Local #538 and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his dogs very much.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bert Price, of the home; two sons, James Price and Bill Jones and wife Lisa, all of Elizabethton; two daughters, Crystal Cable and husband Marty of Elizabethton and Amy O’Hara and husband Devin of Clinton, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Tyler, Phillip, Callie, Isaac and William; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Piper and Sophia; two brothers, Louie Price and wife Vivian of Elizabethton and Tony Price and Sandy of Newnan, Ga.; and two sisters, Sue Blythe and Lisa Padgett and husband Richard, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jerry Michael Price will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the residence at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded by Boone Dam Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Tyler Jones, Phillip Jones, Isaac Jones, William Jones, Marty Cable and Devin O’Hara. Honorary pallbearers will be all past and present staff and workers at Pipefitters Local #538. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Elizabethton-Carter County Humane Society, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 in honor of Jerry.
