According to Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, a Greeneville man has been charged following an investigation into a hit-and-run crash that occurred back in March.
On March 13, deputies responded to the area of Corby Bridge Road and Bill Mauk Road in the South Central Community and found that a 1995 Honda Accord had run a stop sign and crashed into a 2006 Ford Focus. The driver of the Honda Accord fled on foot prior to the deputy’s arrival at the scene, which left the driver of the Ford Focus injured.
Patrol Deputies along with Investigators of the CID Division later determined that the driver of the Honda Accord was Stephen R. Shelton, age 32 of Greeneville, Tennessee.
Warrants were secured against Shelton where he is charged with Felony Hit and Run and is currently in custody at the Greene County Detention Center where he will be held on a $2,000 bond.
