The Tennessee Middle School Golf Association played its E4 South District Tournament on Monday as the top two teams in boys and girls play along with the top two individuals who were not on qualified teams advancing to the East Regional.

On the girls’ side of play, the Jr. Lady Cyclones led six teams at the end when the team of Sophia McKeehan and Callie Mosley carded out just one stroke ahead of runner-up Unicoi County 115 to 116.

McKeehan finished with a 56 at the Johnson City Country Club while Mosley added a 59 to help the T.A. Dugger girls to claim the win. Kinsleey Carder’s round of 62 did not figure into the scoring as the top two scores are taken for the team score.

Aside from Unicoi County qualifying, Ridgeview’s Zaylee Scheuerman (55) and Gray’s Molly Green (54 – individual medalists) qualified for the East Regional.

Happy Valley finished with a 121 on the day as Cayden Anderson finished with a 60 and Grace Hollifield closed out with a 61.

In boy’s action, Liberty Bell took first place with a 176, 24 strokes ahead of the Jr. Cyclones who finished in second and secured the second spot in the East Region.

The Jr. Cyclones were led by Seth Whitehead with a round of 42 while Gage Stout finished with a 52. Colton Killion (53) and Tucker Taylor (53) closed out the team score for TAD.

Braxton Avery finished with a 56 which did not count toward the team total.

Other qualifiers included Ridgeview’s Mac McInturff with a 46 and Jonesborough’s Paul Haire who took medalist honors with a 36.

Happy Valley finished with a 246 for the day led by Nick Bailey, Joel Shaffer, and Donovan Brower who all finished the day with a round of 61. Tyler Bailey finished with a 63 to round out the team’s score.

Matthew Savage finished with a 63 for the Jr. Warriors that didn’t figure into the score.
