Elizabethton Police Department reminds residents that fireworks are prohibited within the City of Elizabethton without a special permit. There have been three permits issued for fireworks displays this weekend. The City of Elizabethton will have fireworks downtown from the Elk Avenue Bridge Saturday night, July 3, at 9 p.m. Southside Christian Church on Southside Road will have a display Sunday night, July 4th, between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Also Sunday night, July 4th, Boyd Sports will have a fireworks display at the conclusion of the River Riders baseball game at Joe O’Brien Field.
