Georgia L. Pierce, 77, of the Valley Forge Community of Elizabethton, went to join her husband with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Launa Range. She was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ.
Georgia was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She worked and retired from North American Rayon Corporation while also serving her community as a beautician. She will be remembered for her hard working and energetic personality.
Georgia was dedicated to her family and husband, Billy, of 48 years. She enjoyed cooking and making her famous candies for loved ones and taking care of her family of pets. As a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother she will be missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Pierce; a grandson, Samuel Pierce; and a sister, Mary Sue Range.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Miller, husband John and their children Heather and Johnny and great-granddaughter Avery; a son, Jamey Pierce, wife Anna and their children Dakota and Josie, Elizabethton; a brother, Gary Range and wife Elaine, Lexington, N.C.; along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Georgia L. Pierce will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, at the Elizabethton Church of Christ with Mr. Todd Houston and Mr. Eddie Craft, ministers, officiating. The family would like to express thanks to Mrs. Pierce’s many special friends in the community, at the Elizabethton Church of Christ and her caregivers and physicians for their loving and devoted care shown to her. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to a food bank or the charity of their choice in memory of Georgia.
