According to Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, the body of a man involved in a vehicle crash on Spivey Mountain Road in Unicoi County has been positively identified as Nicholas Rios Todd of Jonesborough. On the evening of June 28, Washington County Investigators responded to Spivey Mountain Road after being advised by the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office that a vehicle matching the description of Todd’s had been located.
Officers from Washington  County, Unicoi County, The Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were all on scene and confirmed the vehicle to be that of Nicholas Todd. Human remains from inside the vehicle were sent to the James Quillen College of Medicine for autopsy and were later identified as the body of  Nicholas  Todd. The  Tennessee  Highway  Patrol will  be conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash and no foul play is suspected at this time.
