The City of Elizabethton along with the Elizabethton Park and Recreation as well as the Friends of Watauga Lake need to stand and take a bow after presenting one of the best Fourth of July celebrations that most locals can even remember.

A Patriotic Bicycle parade, Patriotic Dog Pageant, Miss Firecracker Pageant, a concert by Spank the 80s, and a thrilling firework show shot from the Elk Avenue Bridge on Saturday night brought hundreds upon hundreds of people to the downtown area joining with those who came out to the Downtown Car Show.

On Sunday, the waters of Watauga Lake were filled with boats decorated Patriotically in a parade from the Watauga Dam up along the shores much to the delight of hundreds that line the parade route.
