Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

To the Editor:
Thursday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton, Christian radio station Love 97.3 FM is sponsoring a free Christian concert with Cochren & Company. Cochren & Company have millions of views on YouTube of their hit songs such as “Who Can,” “One Day” and “Church.” Love FM operates at 97.3 FM in the Tri-Cities and say they use music to worship God, encourage believers and lead others to Jesus Christ. For more info on this free concert and their radio station see their Christian website at www.loveradio.fm. Opening act is Christian comedians Austin & Leb at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 7 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket.
Thursday, July 22, at Fun Fest in Kingsport the headliner for this year’s Contemporary Christian concert is Crowder. Crowder has over 3 million records sold and 3 Grammy nominations. Concert cost is $15 and it is sponsored in part by Christian radio 88.3 WCQR. Their Christian website is wcqr.org and their goal is to encourage faith, family and fun. For more info on Fun Fest go to www.funfest.net/concerts.
The best place to hear Christian music is at your church where it is always free and they have comfortable chairs and air conditioning. The second best place to hear Christian music is in your car and I love to hear 97.3 and 88.3 in my car. If people listened to Christian music in their car we wouldn’t have people cutting us off in traffic and road rage. You can find free Christian music on YouTube. One of my favorite music is Rachel Chapman singing “This Blood.” While Rachel sings you can clearly see she loves Jesus. I like to hear Guy Penrod sing “The King is Coming.” I really like to hear Zack Williams and Dolly Parton sing, “There was Jesus.” Zack Williams will sing a concert at Freedom Hall in Johnson City on October 9, 2021. Also, the Christian group For King & Country will put on a concert on October 30, 2021 at Freedom Hall in Johnson City. Any of these Christian concerts would be good to take your children to and church youth groups.
