Steven Justin Branch, 38, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. Steven was born in Bristol, Tenn., to Hazel Marie (Reed) Branch and the late Jack Harrison Branch Jr. In addition to his father, Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jack Harrison Branch Sr.
Steven worked at Rite Screen in Elizabethton and was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend. He loved spending time with his wife and son, fishing and working on cars. Steven was known for his kindness and his wonderful sense of humor — he was quite a jokester.
Those left to cherish Steven’s many wonderful memories, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 12 years, Melinda Michelle Morris Branch, of the home; his son, Jonathan James Branch, also of the home; two step-children, Andrew and Tiffany Tanner; a sister, Dee Jay Branch of Troutsville, Va.; four nieces, Mercedes Edwards, Kierah Hight, Evangeline Baker and Jaden Coleman; two nephews, Bentley Morris and Skylar Richter; a great-nephew, Jaxon Keith; several aunts and uncles; his fathers-in-law, Terry Morris Sr. and Dwayne Batich; his mother-in-law, Annette Batich; his brother-in-law, Terry Morris Jr. and wife Heather; and a sister-in-law, Kristina Hight and husband Cody. Many cousins and a multitude of friends also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Steven Justin Branch will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Justin Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Wilson Cemetery in the Stoney Creek Community of Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Terry Morris Sr., Terry Morris Jr., Dwayne Batich, Cody Hight, Torry Kelly and Dakota Whitaker.
