New Liberty Free Will
Rev. Bill Greer, pastor of Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church, will preach at New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church this Sunday during the 11 a.m. worship service commemorating 50 years to the date that he began his pastoral career at New Liberty, where he pastored for 11 years.
Additionally, Rev. Greer pastored at Keystone Freewill Baptist (Johnson City) for 25-1/2 years and at Watauga Valley for 12-1/2 years in addition to interim pastor roles at Riverview Baptist in Erwin and First Freewill Baptist in Mountain City.
He and his wife Mary Nell will be honored during the service by the church with lunch provided following the service.
Pastor Rev. Nick Colbaugh invites all friends, family, and former members to attend this special day honoring this long-serving couple.
The church is located on 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Range Christian
Ken Overdorf, minister, will preach a sermon Sunday at Range Community Christian Church entitled “Behold the Lamb” based on John 1: 29-36. The worship service is at 9:30 a.m.
The 6 p.m. service will feature a message by Overdorf titled “Chosen By God” based on Eph. 1:4.
The church will have its annual homecoming service and dinner Sunday, Sept. 12.
The public is invited to all services.

First Christian
First Christian Church, Elizabethton, will offer an in-person worship service at 9:45 a.m. Sunday as well as a live radio broadcast at 90.5 FM Sunday in the church parking lot. The service will be posted to Facebook at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Bible school will follow for all age groups.
The church also offers weekly Bible study at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall. Presently, the group is studying the series “Twelve Ordinary Men” by John MacArthur.

CCCMF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain.
Preaching will be John Owston, minister at Belvue Christian Church.
All men are invited.

Elk River Baptist
Elk River Baptist Church, Highway 321, Butler, will celebrate homecoming Aug. 22.
The service will begin at 10 a.m. with a covered dish meal served at noon.
Everyone is invited to attend and worship and fellowship.

Lynn Valley Baptist
A free clothing give-away event will be held Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lynn Valley Baptist Church.
There will be plenty of back-to-school clothes.

Hale Community Ministry
Hale Community Ministry will offer a free back-to-school clothing give-away for children in grades K-12 by appointment on August 16, 18, 23, and 25. The primary focus is low-income residents of Carter County but anyone in need will be welcome
When calling for an appointment, a list of clothing and shoe sizes will be helpful, or you can bring that information when you arrive to shop.

First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church will have an on-line service Sunday at 11 a.m. Amber Athon will present the sermon based on John 6: 51-58 and Proverbs 9: 1-6.
Youth and Adult Forums, Wednesday Mediator, and Thursdays with Jesus will meet online this week.

Southside Free Will
The Emmaus Road Quartet from Dalton, Ga., will sing Sunday, Aug. 15, at Southside Free Will Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
Everyone is welcome.
