When the Unaka Rangers loaded the bus for the trip to Jellico on Friday night, the team had one thing on their mind and that was to win the game to make sure they stayed on course to host a playoff game for the second straight year.

Little did head coach O’Brien Bennett realize that his team not only was going to win the game but tie a school record for points scored in a game by hanging 62 points on Jellico in a 62-20 victory.

Jamol Blamo had a big night for the Rangers as the running back rushed 18 times to amass 230 yards on the ground and score four touchdowns.

But Blamo wasn’t the only star on the night for the Rangers as quarterback Landon Ramsey completed 9-of-12 passes for 99 yards and one touchdown toss to go along with two two-point conversions through the air.

On the ground, the signal-caller carried the ball nine times for 36 yards and one score while also converting five two-point conversions.

Devin Ramsey added two carries for 76 yards and a score with Brynin Repass toted the pigskin one time for one yard.

Devin Ramsey also led the way in receiving as he hauled in five catches for 72 yards and a score plus catching both two-point conversions. He wasn’t finished there as the speedster also had two kickoff returns for 74 yards and a touchdown on a kickoff return.

Caleb Lydick caught one pass for five yards, Johnny Douglas one for 10 yards, and Takoda Freeman registered two catches for 17 yards in the contest.

The Rangers will be back on Goddard Field Friday night where they will host the Happy Valley Warriors in a cross-town battle.

Kickoff for the contest is 7:30 pm.
