Cassie Hatley Baker, 70, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the home of her sister, BendiDetta Widener, with her family by her side.
Cassie was born on December 21, 1950 in Elizabethton to the late Jube and Hazel Durham Hatley. She attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. She loved being with her family, drinking Mountain Dew and smoking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Baker, and two brothers, David Hatley and Dennis Hatley.
Survivors include one son, Scotty Baker; and one daughter, Evie McRae; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Anecone of Boston, Mass., Phyllis Roberson, Linda Wiseman and BendiDetta Widener of Elizabethton; two brothers, Robert (Ruthie) Mitchell of Johnson City and Steve (Kathy) Hatley of Gray, Tenn.; several nieces & nephews; and also two special friends, Glenda Willis Hyatt and Vanessa (Navessa) of Signature Health.
Funeral services were conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 2, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson and the Rev. Mark Potter officiating. The graveside service and interment was at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 3, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music was provided by the family. Pallbearers were selected from family and friends. The family received friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Amedisys Hospice. Family and friends assembled at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com
