The Elizabethton Star weekly recognizes the Player of the Week from the previous week’s games. The Week Five  standouts are as follows:

Elizabethton High School
Kaleb Holzer
In the Cyclones 49-0 win over Sullivan East, Kaleb Holzer made the most of his opportunity by carrying the ball seven times for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Hampton High School
Conor Jones
In a heartbreaking 28-22 loss to South Greene, the senior quarterback did his best to will the Bulldogs to victory as he accounted for two touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions in the defeat.

Cloudland High School
Seth Birchfield
Birchfield single-handedly helped lead his team to victory rushing for 338 yards and three touchdowns in the ‘Landers 20-7 victory over the visiting West Greene Buffalos.

Unaka High School
Landon and Devin Ramsey
There was no way to pick between the two Ramsey brothers who absolutely lit up the scoreboard in Harlan, Kentucky last week in their big 52-34 win on the road. Devin Ramsey hauled in 18 receptions in the contest for 352 yards, four touchdowns, and two two-point conversions.

The total was six yards shy of an all-time state record of 358 putting Ramsey at number two all-time and his 18 receptions also were good for number two all-time in the TSSAA.

Landon Ramsey was getting the football to his brother early and often as the junior signal-caller was 27-of-42 for 432 yards and the four touchdowns. He also accounted for four two-point conversions. Landon also rushed 15 times for 53 yards and two scores.

Happy Valley High School
Reagan Ensor
Ensor was a bright spot for the Warriors as the junior quarterback was 8-of-15 for 129 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors homecoming loss to Cumberland Gap, 36-12.
