T.A. Dugger cross country teams excel at Bristol Cross

The T.A. Dugger boys and girls cross country teams made the trip to Bristol this past weekend and had a standout effort from both groups as the girls finished the event in second place while the boys claimed an eighth-place finish.

On the girl’s side, the Jr. Lady Cyclones ran against 18 other teams to pull out the second-place finish.

Arvella Nave led the pack for the Jr. Lady Cyclones as she finished sixth overall with a time of 13:45. Helen Hackett finished in a time of 14:24 to cross the finish line in 16th place.

Jane Hackett’s 14:26 was good enough for 17th place in the race.

Other finishers and their times included:

-Madeline Isaacs – 21st – 14:33
-Adrian Heading – 27th – 14:45
-Michelle Shields – 44th – 15:16
-Anna Jenkins – 68th – 16:06
-Lillie Ward – 109th – 17:33
-Cara Carr – 148th – 19:35
-Emma Short – 192nd – 23:55

A total of 210 girls competed in the cross country event.

In boy’s action, the Jr. Cyclones took on 19 other teams totaling 233 boys to bring home the eighth-place finish.

Jacob Jenkins had the best finish for TAD crossing the finish line in 28th place with a time of 13:06. Judson Steffee came across 27 seconds later to take 45th place.

William Snodgrass claimed the 54th spot with a finish of 13:42 while Cooper Cole ran the course in 14:58 for a 105th place finish.
