The Elizabethton Star weekly recognizes the Player of the Week from the previous week’s games. The Week FiveĀ  standouts are as follows:

Elizabethton High School
Bryson Rollins
In the Cyclones 41-21 win over the #9 ranked Class 5-A Rhea County Golden Eagles, Rollins was the match that lit the Cyclones offense as the senior quarterback carried the ball 21 times for 147 yards and four touchdowns while also adding 2-of-4 passing for 52 yards and a touchdown pass.

Cloudland High School
Caleb Sluder
Sluder was instrumental in helping the Highlanders pull off the upset of a highly ranked Class 3-A Unicoi County squad on the road in Erwin. Sluder had two scores and a key interception to lead his Highlander team to the victory.

Unaka High School
Landon Ramsey
The junior signal-caller willed his team to a hard-fought 14-12 win over Claiborne after the game was delayed to stormes in the area. Ramsey scored both touchdowns to help move the Rangers to 5-2 on the season.

Happy Valley High School
Pedro Colunga
Colunga provided much of the grunt work on the ground to open the door for playmakers Reagan Ensor and Andrew Little to put points on the board to lead the Warriors to a 24-6 victory – their first of the season.
