Bad decisions by California have been the main reason for the supply chain mess. California has made some really crazy decisions. The Bible says in Romans 1 you make bad crazy decisions when you continually practice evil and reject Jesus, because God turns you over to a reprobate mind. They passed a law that said only those stealing over $1,000 would be charged with a crime. As a result Walgreen had to shut down stores because of all of the stealing.
Because California is controlled by environmentalists the craziest thing California did was recently pass new tougher emissions standards for all tractor-trailers. As a result last month a record number of cargo ships were stuck outside the largest port in America — Los Angeles and the second largest port in America — Long Beach because about half of our nation’s tractor-trailer rigs now can’t enter the state of California.
According to www.thelastrefuge.com and www.skywatchtv.com the nationwide supply problem is California’s fault because of their new emission standards that prevent about half of the nation’s tractor- trailer rigs from driving in California. California’s new tougher EPA rules block older trucks that don’t comply with their tougher emissions from driving in the state. The federal government has the right to overrule the new state emissions standards because the federal government has the constitutional control over commerce between states. The only thing the Biden administration did was put the ports on 24-hour operation. This helped with the ships waiting to unload, but did nothing to get the cargo out of California.
We need more truck drivers, but more importantly we need to treat them better so they don’t continue to have record turnover. Most aren’t aware of the many sacrifices and hardships involved in driving trucks. Many require over 70 hour-a- week jobs and away from home for weeks at a time causing stress on their families. Truck drivers are forced to wait in lines at ports that weren’t built to handle the amount of containers. Drivers have to waste time searching for overnight parking for hours and wind up ending their driving days early to find a spot to park overnight. They can’t take a bathroom break or eat when they want. These challenges make the job more aggravating and less efficient; the more time drivers spend waiting and looking for parking, the less time they’re able to cover miles on the highway, deliver goods to customers and get paid. Tuck drivers are more important than people think. When some cities wanted to cut out their police, the truckers said if you do we will not be driving in cities without police and bringing any food so the cities backed down on cuts in their police force. In this time of thanksgiving we need to pray for and thank our truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most important and demanding jobs! The Bible says in everything give thanks so the Christian thing to do is also thank all those in restaurants who serve you. Also, thank all essential workers.
Some say the supply crisis in California was done by design and was another tactic to scare the masses. Now higher demand because of the holiday season is causing more shortages. Some in the media blame people for buying too much. However, the Bible says it’s wise to store up for the winter as the ants do. China just urged their people to prepare for a dark cold winter by having all the food, water, and supplies they need. Terrorists and other enemies could shut down our power grid at any time for months because it’s not protected and most of it was made in China. They would prefer to shut the power grid down during the coldest part of winter to kill the most people. America’s great riches hang by a thread or electric wire!
People have been more concerned with their health than ever before and more selfish and unthankful than ever just as the Bible in II Timothy 3 said they would be in these last days before the return of Jesus. Doctors say it’s good for our health to be thankful. Human psychology is such we aren’t made happy by what we buy, but by what we are thankful for or appreciate. The healthiest attitude is the attitude of gratitude. Rich is determined not by what we buy or have but how little we need. Christians are the most thankful people because they are thankful first and always to Jesus who with His precious blood fully paid for all our sins on the cross and made us sons and daughters of God and given us eternal blessings. Eye has not seen nor ear heard what God has prepared for Christians. Only Jesus can make you beyond blessed and beyond thankful!
