Elizabethton welcomed a new nonprofit to the community on Thursday as Goodwill Industries opened a retail store and drive-through drop off center.

“This location here in Elizabethton offers customers over 5,700 square feet of shopping as well as a convenient drive-through drop off location for donations,” said Sarah Faulk, marketing specialist for Goodwill Industries of the Tenneva area. “This new retail store will help Goodwill Industries of the Tenneva area continue its mission of providing employment services to those in need.”

The center also will house a training center open to the community, Faulk told the more than 100 people gathered for the opening.

“Goodwill thanks the people of Elizabethton for helping us in our mission to help others achieve success through the power of meaningful work,” she said. “Goodwill is dedicated to providing meaningful employment in hope of improving the lives of others, and proceeds from all retail stores fund Goodwill Industries of the Tenneva area’s social mission services.”

Goodwill’s Retail Store and Donation Center in Elizabethton is located at 791 West Elk Avenue and the store is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Donations are accepted at all retail stores and attended donation centers, which can be found on Goodwill’s website at www.goodwilltnva.org.
