Main Street Elizabethton to host Small Business Saturday

More than 30 local establishments are taking part in the Small Business Saturday shopping events coordinated by Main Street Elizabethton.

Some features that attendees can expect include festive Christmas carolers from local churches provided by Main Street Elizabethton, a visit with Santa from noon until 2 p.m. at the Elizabethton Chamber of Commerce, live music throughout the store at Five One Eight gift shop, 20% off of all merchandise and coffee by the pound at The Coffee Company, and 10% off at Undervalley Dragway.

Other deals include 20% off all merchandise and $1 off of a beverage with the proof of a small business receipt at Riverside Taphouse and up to 75% off all sales throughout The Peddler’s Cart antique store will also be offered.

The event will take place all throughout Downtown Elizabethton on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and those interested can find a list of all participating businesses at facebook.com/DowntownElizabethton

In addition to Small Business Saturday, Skate by the Doe, Elizabethton’s open-air ice-skating experience, kicks off Saturday morning in Covered Bridge Park, and those interested can book admission online at skatebythedoe.com to reserve their spot.

To continue the holiday celebrations, City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation and Carter County Bank will host Polar Express, an outdoor movie event at Edward’s Island Park. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with free kiddie train rides, marshmallow roasting, hot chocolate, and more.
