Jeff Powell, 60, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 22, 2021, surrounded by his family at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Jeff was born in Banner Elk, N.C., to Clairece Powell of Roan Mountain and the late William Henry Powell.
Jeff worked for Banner Cabinet as a cabinet finisher for 37 years. He was a family man that was always happy and joking around. Jeff was also a hard worker and absolutely lived for his children, mother, brothers, sisters, wife and grandchildren. Jeff enjoyed playing his guitar for his family and had a heart of gold that he shared with everyone.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Tonya Katrenia Crain Powell; his children, Brandon Powell, Monica Powell and Aaron Powell; his grandchildren, Levi, Shey, Dalton, Deliah, Aden, Hailey and Camille; his great-grandchild, Nellie Lain; his mom, Clairece Powell; his sister, Jean (Rodney) Payne; his brothers, Jerome (Lori) Powell and Jerald Powell; his nieces and nephews, Makayla, Alex, Nicole, Tiffany and Christopher; his great-nieces and great-nephews; and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Boggs.
Services will be private.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Joe Banner, who treated him like a son, the staff of Mission Hospital in Asheville and Steve Boone. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to his wife, Tonya, to assist with funeral expenses.
