Chiquita Robin Oakes, age 61, of Roan Mountain went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Holston Valley Medical Center. Chiquita was born in Marion, NC to the late George and Hazel Helton Lister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo and Rhonda.

Chiquita was a member of Keenburg Baptist Church and a graduate of Northeast State Community College. The activities she loved the most were crafts, crocheting and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Amber Lambert (Joey) of Roan Mountain and Kelly Oakes of Roan Mountain; son, Gregory Oakes (Jessica) of Roan Mountain; five grandchildren and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Parkway, Memphis, TN 38105.
