Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a man suspected of shooting two people on Dave Buck Road on Saturday night.

Deputies say 37-year-old Elijah Adam Taylor is charged with two counts of attempted murder after witnesses said he started a fight and shot at two people at a residence on Dave Buck Road.

Deputies responding to the scene found one victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transferred to a hospital. “Taylor had already fled” when investigators arrived, according to a release from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.

Taylor is a 5’4” white male with dark to gray hair, balding on top, and may have a beard. He has neck and chest tattoos. He was last seen armed with a handgun, and investigators believe him to be dangerous.

Police say if Taylor is spotted, that he should not be approached and to call authorities instead. Anyone with information on Taylor’s location are asked to call CCSO dispatch at 423-542-1845 or to call 911.
