Nadine Collins, 88, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Nadine was born in Wise County, Va., to the late Hiram and Laura Stidham Standifer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Collins. Nadine was the last of 11 siblings.
Nadine worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She was a wonderful grandmother to all of her precious grandchildren and was a loving and kind hearted mom, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
Those left to cherish Nadine’s memory include six children, Gary (Gail) Collins of Johnson City, Larry (Patricia) Collins of Leicester, N.C., Patricia Powell of Elizabethton, Kim (Dave) Sandora of Elizabethton, David (Pam) Collins of Bluff City and Dwight (Aylitta) Collins of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Nadine Collins will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with her son, Pastor Larry Collins, officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:20 a.m. Thursday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Freewill Baptist Children’s Ministries, 90 Stanley Lane, Greeneville, TN 37743.
