HAMPTON – Thursday night hoops was the setting when Little Milligan traveled down the road to take on Hampton. The typical girls and boys double header produced excitement in bursts, but at the end of the night both games had the same result, blowout wins.

Hampton’s girls took the victory while Little Milligan’s boys reigned victorious in the second affair of the night.

Audrey Blevins and the Bulldogs got going early as she poured in four early points. MacKenzie McClain would add a first quarter three and Hampton led 8-2 after the first frame of action.

The second quarter saw more dominance from the Hampton defense which continued to stifle the Little Milligan offense to just five points in the quarter. Blevins would continue to score while Hannah Smith would land her name on the score sheet.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Hampton lady’s wanted to finish their job and that’s exactly what they did.

Aside from Smith’s and Blevins’ dominance, the third quarter saw scores from Lauren Smith and Meagan Whitehead. By the end of the third, the Bulldogs had all but assured victory with an offensive explosion of a quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Aubrey Verdon would add a few points to help plant the final stake into Little Milligan, with Arionna Potter getting the final points. The Lady Bulldogs continued to roll by a final of 43-22.

The boys game was a total 180 to the results of the girls.

Little Milligan came in with a clear size advantage, but this is a Hampton Bulldog team that is determined and not going to back down from anything.

Bryce Fagan of Little Milligan and Jamie Turbyfill of Hampton exchanged baskets early, but Little Milligan started to dominate the boards early. Tuff Robinson and Chase Davenport also had good quarters to put Hampton behind 18-12 heading to the second.

Maddux Wilson hit a big three to end the first, but both he and the rest of the Bulldogs really struggled in the second. The Buffaloes continued to score with primarily the same three guys. Little Milligan would outscore Hampton 15-2 in the quarter.

After the break, the Bulldogs were looking for any sort of momentum to try and run down the Buffaloes. However, all they could muster was a basket from Ezra Tolley and three from Talon Creed. Hampton trailed 45-19 heading to the last act.

The fourth was much of the same with Caden Davis grabbing a basket just before the end of the game as the final was 51-27 in favor of Little Milligan.
